I was originally with another practice in Midlothian but was finding that even as an NHS patient they were expensive. Not only that but I was advised that a dental implant was the best option for one of my teeth that had had a temporary filling for a couple of years......at over £2,000!
Approximately a year ago I was accepted as a new patient at Gorebridge Dental Practice. The earliest I could be seen for my first appointment was September 25 which I was fine with.
I was seen by Sharon who was very thorough and recommended two fillings, including the one that had the temporary filling.
One was completed just before Christmas and the second one was in the February of 26. Both completed on the NHS. The second one was the one that my previous dentist had said it would require a dental implant!!
I had to go back the following day for the second one as I found that the filling was just a bit too high on the bite. It wasn't a problem and they told me to come in the next day and I saw Ash, another one of the practitioners. Five minutes later I was back out the door completely happy.
Being taken on as a patient at the Gorebridge practice was the best thing that I did. No fuss, just straightforward dentistry. Thank you to all of the staff.

Can’t fault this dentist. The dentists are so professional, thorough and very good at their job. I had a filling done and it doesn’t even look like there’s a filling. It blends in so well with the rest of my teeth. Very lucky to have found this

The Team are first class, and put you at absolute ease, explaining the process every step of the way.
At my age, I never thought after all the bad experiences I have had over the years with dentists, I would finally find one that actually delivers on all levels.

Very nervous patient when it comes to dentists . But this has to be by far the best. Ushadevi was fantastic talked me through the process and was patient when I’m scared of needles . Lucy the dental nurse also kind and warm . These guys are absolutely amazing and they have the best the best practice about . Well done and thanks for making me calm

I am deathly afraid of the dentist, my first time arriving I chose to stand outside until I had to go in. Each time I came in they comforted me so much that I now have no problem walking into the dentist if I could give them more stars I would. EVERYONE is so nice and comforting I wouldn't change a single thing.

Usha is a great dentist and put me completely at ease when I decided to go ahead with my dental work, after putting up with missing teeth and feeling uncomfortable about smiling I now feel much better about my smile. The staff are all brilliant and put me completely at ease after years of being scared of dentists, I would thoroughly recommend this practice to anyone.

My child needed fillings on both the upper and lower teeth to protect them from a very rare condition which requires frequent dental visits. She was very scared and hesitant about the procedure, but both dentists, Dr. Usha and Dr. Ashwin, were incredibly patient and reassuring. They took the time to comfort her and make her feel safe, which helped the treatment go smoothly.
Dr. Ashwin showed exceptional care in carefully completing the procedure despite the challenges with the placement of the tooth. He even went the extra mile by doing a bit of cleaning to remove tartar buildup.
Thanks to their gentle approach, my child is now happy and no longer afraid of visiting the dentist. I truly appreciate the care shown by both dentists and highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking excellent dental care especially for kids who are scared of dental visits.

i like a lot of people dont like going to dentist . i hadnt been to dentist for aproximatly 6-7 years. i got a scale and polish and 2 fillings . i would highly recommend Gorebridge dental practice. all staff are very nice and thank them very much

I wasn’t satisfied with my previous dentist, so I started looking for a new one and found Family Dental Practice. I’m so glad I made the switch and even got my whole family registered here. The team took the time to explain everything in detail and guided us on the best daily dental habits and why they matter. The service was excellent, and they were great with the kids – keeping them engaged and encouraging them to follow good dental practices. The best dental practice, doctors, their helpers and a lovely admin lady. Staff top notch and then the dental service - amazing. The best in Scotland and I don't say things like that lightly. My whole journey was very professional, scans done and treatment arranged promptly. So good.

They are such lovely understanding people. I have such a fear of the dentist after a traumatic past experience. However between the wonderful receptionist who could not be more accommodating and reassurance and my dentist Sharon who is the most patient and considerate dentist I have been a patient of, i couldn't recommend the practise enough, especially for anxious patients. Special thanks to the funny and down to earth dental nurse as well for helping put me at ease. Thank you.

So very glad my husband and I joined this Dental Practice last year. Everything is explained to you before they proceed and you are always checked up on during the procedure to make sure you are okay. Never rushed …a lovely experience. All staff are great.

Great friendly service as always. I phoned the practice today after my tooth cracked at work, appointment given for a few hours later. I attended, filling done professionally by Dr Usha and her assistant (sorry but I forgot your name) and with a smile, which you could see, even with their masks on. I love this practice, very professional, efficient, caring and friendly staff. I've also been seen by Dr Aswin who was the very same, kind, caring and friendly. I would recommend this practice to anyone whether you're wanting to go private or NHS

I recently had a wisdom tooth removed. I was a little bit concerned that it might not go smoothly, so I prepared for the worst, but Usha couldn't have been better. She took her time, and it was a textbook extraction, highly recommended, healing well now

I had quite extreme dental anxiety, so avoided visits for far too long. I say it in past tense as although I’m not where I hope to be yet, the dentists and everyone at this practice are the best I’ve ever experienced.
They’re helping me relax so much. I’m starting to believe that taking care of my teeth doesn’t have to be traumatic.
I’ve had two appointments this week and I’m not dreading my upcoming scale and polish. It’s a miracle, and such a relief! Thank you.

Really friendly and pleasant start as new patient with this local practice. Very informative visit and already feel comfortable with the review of my dental work
(Follow up: went in for my crown prep and measurement yesterday and Ushadevi was delightful and so chatty! She went through every step and what she was doing and I felt like she really cared and took an interest in my daft ramblings too! Whilst dental work can be tense, she and the team made me feel reassured and comfortable, so thank you for that)

My family and I have moved from another dental practice this year and we don't regret it at all (although was a bit sceptic at the beginning about changing the practice). But now we are glad we did it. They are such a lovely team, from the receptionist, the nurse and the dentist. Everything went so smooth and easy (not to forget to mention that I am always anxious when it comes to the dentist). Very pleasant dental experience will summarise all! I highly recommend this dental practice.

Getting registered and follow up appointments with Dentists in Edinburgh is very challenging. Glad we got registered at The Family Dental Practice Gore bridge. the staff - Dr. Usha, Dr. Ashwin, the nurses and the receptionists all made me and my family feel at ease. They were friendly, professional and gentle. The clinic was very clean, modern and runs on time. I really appreciate how clearly everything was explained and their attention to detail made a big difference. I will strongly recommend the practice to anyone looking for a kind and skilled dentist. I’ve struggled to find a dentist in Edinburgh and I finally got a space at this practice. They were so lovely and welcoming. I felt at ease in the warm environment. Dr Usha and Katie were so sweet!! Had loads of laughs with them. Very lovely staff 🥰🥰

Probably the best experience I've had with a dentist. I was so scared but the dentist cracked me up and I honestly forgot I was anxious, I didn't feel judged which i initially thought would happen... he also made the effort to help me with my oral health, because I struggle with the upkeep of my teeth for some private reasons. The receptionist was also amazing, she was really welcoming and and she was really understanding and helped me out with the tablet to do the forms. Such a great place. Thank you 🙂

First visit today. I'm a very anxious person, but from the second I walked in, I was made to feel at ease. My dentist was a lovely chap, and his nurse was also really nice. Both were excellent at making me feel relaxed, which helped tremendously. Only needed a scale and polish but the dentist explained what he was doing, what he had found and it was over in a flash!
The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful and gives a really good first impression of the practice. I would highly recommend registering with them if you need a dentist.

Highly recommended! I joined Gorebridge dentist maybe 6 months ago, I was extremely nervous about going as I had a really bad experience with my old NHS dentist. Usha was utmost professional, never once Felt judged. She put my health first and kindly took her time to arrange a dental plan which she takes me through in detail every visit. The staff are also kind and caring. If anyone has the fear of the dentist. Ask for Usha she will take all your concerns away.

I am or should I say was terrified of the dentist. I'd had some bad experiences of dentists in my late teens that had put me off going to the dentist all together. I booked an appointment here as I'd had a broken tooth and had just been getting on with things for a long time but I knew it needed looking at. I was full of apprehension and nerves in the build up to going. As soon as I got there they made me feel so comfortable, welcome and most importantly they made me feel relaxed the treatments were nowhere near as bad as I'd built it up to be in my head. All of the staff are lovely. If you are a nervous person or concerned or don't like the dentist like I was, I would highly recommend these guys they immediately put me at ease and any worries or concerns I had they talked through with me! Im very happy with the service provided. Thanks guys!
